This used to be the stable and store with loft over, but again has been tastefully converted to provide a two storey cottage with two double bedrooms.

The kitchen is fully fitted with electric cooker, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer and table and chairs. Off the kitchen is a small hallway leading to Bathroom with toilet, wash basin, shaver point, bath with shower over, and Bedroom with wardrobe, chest of drawers and double bed.

Upstairs lounge has a french window with balustrade and a skylight window which looks out over the Sugar Loaf Mountain and the town of Abergavenny

It has a sofa and two armchairs, TV with freeview, video recorder, DVD player and radio/CD player, also book shelves with a good supply of books. The Upstairs bedroom has wardrobe, chest of drawers, double bed and single bed, making this a family room.

The oil fired central heating throughout keeps the cottage warm and welcoming all year round. Cot and high chair provided on request. Bed linen and towels provided throughout. Smoking or pets are not allowed in The Loft. Ample parking on site. Sleeps 5


The cottages are both situated at 2 Tyr Pwll, Hardwick, Abergavenny . The property is approached off a well maintained local council road, and is approximately 100 yards from the B4598 Abergavenny-Usk road, where there is a Bus stop for the (rather infrequent) local bus into Abergavenny.

The nearest Shop Mobility scheme runs from the Castle Car Park in the town centre.

Entrance through a 10 foot wooden gate onto a new concrete driveway provides access to the house and cottages.



Parking is on the concrete parking area alongside the cottage.

There is a slight gradient up from this area to the cottage, which is then approached along a tarmac pathway and down three concrete steps. Handrails are provided on both sides of this pathway on the majority of the route.

Threshold step into cottage is 5cm. This takes you into the kitchen (vinolay flooring), which leads through, via a lobby, into a level bathroom (also vinolay flooring and bath with shower over). Off this small area is the downstairs double bedroom which is fully carpeted (double bed can be accessed from both sides)

The carpeted stairway leads from the kitchen to the first floor. The stairway has four steps, turns then eight steps, a wall on one side and a wooden banister with handrail on the left side. The banister continues around the edge of the upstairs lounge around the stairwell. The larger family bedroom which has a double and single bed, leads off the lounge. Both beds can be accessed from either side.



Parking for this cottage is further along the concrete driveway, and is a large level area with a hardcore surface.

On leaving this area, walk over the concrete driveway and down a slightly sloping path, again with hardcore surface and handrail, onto a concrete path leading to the entrance door. This is approached up a shallow concrete ramp with a 5cm step into the cottage which is all on one level.

Both kitchen and bathroom have vinolay flooring and the bath has a shower fitted over.

The lounge and bedroom are fully carpeted. In the bedroom the double bed is again accessible from either side.

This cottage has extra wide doorways, and with the ramp up to the entrance door would offer access to wheelchair users.



All light switches are easily accessible, and plug points are midway up from floor level.

Entrance doors are 106cm wide. Interior doors are also quite wide, with the narrowest being 74cm wide(bathrooms).

Worksurfaces in both kitchens are 95cm high.

The duvets and pillows in all bedrooms are polyester (not feather), and all bed linen is polyester/cotton mix.

Remote control TV (teletext) video and DVD in both lounges, and portable televisions in all bedrooms.

The only mobile phone network which does not give good reception in the area is Vodaphone, but this can be accessed outside the cottages.

The owners live on the property, and are always available to help with unloading baggage and settling in etc.
